Naturopathic Medicine is a distinct primary health care system that blends modern scientific knowledge with traditional and natural forms of medicine. Focusing on prevention and using natural treatments, the goal is to stimulate and support the body's ability to heal itself. The primary goal of Naturopathic Medicine is to address the cause of disease, rather than simply treat or suppress symptoms.
Treating both acute and chronic conditions, Naturopathic Doctors choose treatments based on the individual patient - their physiological, structural, psychological, social, environment and lifestyle factors all taken into account. A specific combination of therapies is provided for each individual, based on their vitality, stage of the disease and personal circumstances. Anyone can benefit from naturopathic medicine, whether you have multiple chronic healthcare conditions or are looking to optimize your wellness and maintain general health and longevity.

Your initial Naturopathic Consultation is one hour to allow for comprehensive information gathering, while follow-up visits will be around 30 minutes in length depending on the treatment necessary.
Typically, during the initial visit, your naturopathic doctor will take a detailed history of your current and past health concerns, conduct a physical exam if indicated, and use information from laboratory tests (Bloodscan Analysis) to make an assessment and diagnosis. With the patient's input, a personalized treatment plan will be proposed to help facilitate achieving their health goals.
After each visit, your Naturopathic Doctor will thoroughly review and investigate the case presented and perform necessary research to plan the best treatment for the client. In every case, finding the root cause of the problem is the ultimate priority.
We employ the latest in scientific food testing to determine food allergies and sensitivities that are often hard to detect or are missed on standard skin prick allergy tests. When foods create an adverse reaction in our bodies, all levels of health are disrupted.
On exposure to certain foods, your immune system can react by releasing proteins called antibodies. Foods that cause antibodies to be released are called antigens or allergens. Two types of antibodies are commonly produced in response to foods: IgE (immunoglobulin E) and IgG (immunoglobulin G). A food allergy is an immediate reaction caused by the production of IgE antibodies, while a food sensitivity is a delayed reaction caused by the production of IgG antibodies to specific foods.
Intravenous (IV) therapy is often referred to as nutrient therapy; solutions injected are combinations of various vitamins, minerals, amino acids, homeopathics and plant extracts.
By injecting these core nutrients immediately into the bloodstream, you get 100% absorption into tissues and organs. As a result, therapeutic levels of nutrients are obtained and clinical results are much more effective and predictable. When we ingest nutritive supplements in the form of tinctures, pills or capsules, much is lost in the digestive process.
BloodScan™ is a highly advanced Nutritional and Metabolic Profiling System included in each patient's initial consult. BloodScan™ is a set of examination techniques that examine and scrutinize blood morphologies to identify apparent changes and markers within the blood, the presence of which may show an individual’s tendency towards degenerative conditions or disease. By understanding the individual's progressive tendencies (i.e. benchmarks) and how far from optimal health they may have strayed as a result of factors such as lifestyle, pollutants, stress, nutritional inadequacies etc, BloodScan™ provides the individual with the opportunity to have these pre-clinical conditions addressed effectively.
Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) is a now widely available treatment option that provides you with natural version of your hormones to improve your wellbeing. The goal of BHRT is to balance your hormone levels and therefore counteract any uncomfortable or painful conditions related to low or imbalanced hormones. The key difference between BHRT and other kinds of hormonal therapy is the word “bioidentical”. Bioidentical hormones are created to be chemically identical to the hormones naturally produced by your body.
Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy is a natural treatment option with a variety of different benefits, especially if you’re suffering from a condition that impacts your body’s hormone production. When your hormones are imbalanced or low, you will feel the repercussions in numerous ways, from your brain to your musculoskeletal, immune, and reproductive systems.
For assessment SNHC offers both conventional blood hormone testing as well as saliva testing. Click below to learn more about BHRT and book an appointment to determine if it is right for you.
