Intravenous (IV) therapy is often referred to as nutrient therapy; solutions injected are combinations of various vitamins, minerals, amino acids, homeopathics and plant extracts.
By injecting these core nutrients immediately into the bloodstream, you get 100% absorption into tissues and organs. As a result, therapeutic levels of nutrients are obtained and clinical results are much more effective and predictable. When we ingest nutritive supplements in the form of tinctures, pills or capsules, much is lost in the digestive process.
When specially prepared nutrients are injected intravenously, they bypass the liver and digestive organs and are available directly through the circulation to the tissues and cells of the body.
IV therapy allows for higher concentrations of nutrients to enter cells more easily in order to heal and repair cellular damage caused by chronic diseases or heavy metals and environmental toxins. In chronic and depleted conditions (such as cancer) where the therapeutic dose is simply too high to take orally, and where the digestive functions are often compromised, IV therapy is extremely beneficial. In acute infections, smaller IV doses can be used to enhance immune function.
IV therapy provides a route of administration that bypasses the digestive system and liver filtration, thereby guaranteeing a greater concentration of nutrients into the cells. This helps the cells function better, which usually leads to the patient feeling better.
Normally, nutrients taken orally enter the cell through active transport; this process requires cell energy, and the cell’s ability to transport the nutrients from outside the cell into the cell. Diseased cells lack the energy required and the ability to absorb nutrients effectively, thus decreasing the amount of nutrients that reach the cell. With IV therapy, nutrients enter the cell without using the cell's active transport.
The general effect of intravenous therapy appears to be a marked improvement in the energy capacity and function of cells. If your cells can function at their best, it's more likely you can recover from a serious health problem. People respond differently to intravenous nutrient therapy, some may only need an occasional injection, while others may need monthly or even weekly treatments in order to keep their chronic condition under control.
