What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a health care profession that diagnoses and treats disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system, and monitors their effect on general health. Chiropractic care is used most often to treat neuromusculoskeletal complaints, including but not limited to back pain, neck pain, joint pain in the arms and legs, and headaches. Chiropractic Doctors practice a drug-free, hands-on approach to health care that includes patient examination, diagnosis and treatment. The most common therapeutic procedure performed by doctors of chiropractic is known as spinal manipulation or chiropractic adjustment. Manipulation of the affected joint and tissue restores mobility, thereby alleviating pain and muscle tightness, and allowing tissues to heal. Chiropractors have broad diagnostic skills and are also trained to recommend therapeutic and rehabilitative exercises.

What to expect during your first visit?

On your initial visit, Dr. Meagan Lynch will complete a thorough health history, followed by a comprehensive physical, biomechanical and neurological examination that includes a posture and gait analysis. Dr. Lynch uses techniques and treatments that are tailored to the patient's individual needs and condition, including chiropractic, acupuncture, soft tissue release and custom orthotics.

After a complete assessment, Dr. Lynch will explain her findings, provide a diagnosis and offer a comprehensive treatment and management plan. She will recommend therapeutic exercise and other non-invasive therapies, and provide nutritional, dietary and lifestyle counselling. You will have ample time to discuss any questions or concerns you may have prior to commencing treatment.
